The mushrooms are up and flourishing so we hold this workshop on Sunday, January 17th! Please contact Emily Purvis in the Biology Department, (530) 898-5356, if you are interested in attending.

This workshop will be useful for beginners as well as for people with some knowledge of mushrooms.  This workshop starts with an introduction to mushrooms, then collecting in the field and finally identifying the mushrooms that are found.  The instructor, Philip Carpenter, has extensive knowledge of mushrooms and has been a member of the Fungus Federation of Santa Cruz since it was organized in 1984. The workshop will meet 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Forest Ranch Community Center and the Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve.
