The Chico State Herbarium allows scientists, students, state agencies, and visitors to see and examine more than 115,300 North State plants, dating from the pre-1930s to today. This living laboratory and historical archive helps us study regional plants, identify rare species, and recover genetic information—it is a critical resource as our changing climate rapidly reshapes local ecosystems.
